The Executive Board of the Council of United Circassia held an online meeting on 20 July 2025, during which recent political developments and the ongoing detention of our Council President, Mr. Selçuk Bağlar, and its impact on the Council's operations were thoroughly discussed.

Following consultations with relevant individuals and institutions closely monitoring the situation in Turkey, as well as ongoing engagement with international stakeholders, it was decided that a new presidential election would be held and that the Council's Executive Board would be restructured in order to ensure the continuity and effective functioning of the Council's activities.

As a result, during the vote held on 20 July 2025, Mr. Kase Kik was elected as the new President of the Council of United Circassia.

Under the leadership of our newly elected president, a new Executive Board will be formed in the near future with the aim of strengthening the Council’s institutional capacity and ensuring more effective progress toward its core objectives.
